The college has been established as one of the remarkable degree college, an initiative of University Grant Commission (UGC), New Delhi, Government of Punjab and Panjab University, Chandigarh to provide the best and affordable education at doorstep of residents of educationally backward district of the state. The college is situated in Village Karyal at Dharamkot-Kot Ise Khan State High Way. Campus of the College is covered with an area of 12 acre in the lap of the Nature and peaceful surrounding. The college is committed to provide quality education with best infrastructure facilities to the students so that they may raise high in life of different spheres. The Vision of this college is to facilitate the students with value based education while equipping them with necessary skills required facing and overcoming the challenges of ever changing competitive and Global world. The college is striving hard to introduce more and more facilities keeping in view the comfort and welfare of the students

The main objective of this college is to impart education to the students of rural areas as there are around 100 villages adjacent to this college. College has all the modern amenities (Computer Lab, Language Lab, Seminar Hall, and Video Conferencing Room etc.) where the main focus is to give proper attention towards the all-round development of the students. The college staff is always to putting their efforts to promote the extra co-curricular, academics and sports activities.

The college was inaugurated on August 28, 2016 and in the 5th academic session 2020-21 the total strength of the college reached more than 500 students in B.A, B.com and PGDCA courses. The college has a very airy and specious building, well equipped Computer Lab. and a well- lighted and well-furnished library. The academic results of the college were very encouraging and excellent.

Moreover in the field of sports, the students participated and performed remarkably well in inter college and university level competitions. The college has made commendable achievement in the academics, sports and culture fields.
